This is the official app for the EIT ManufacturingMatchmakingevent, supported by EIT, a body of the European Union.NextFebruary, the first matchmaking event will be held in SanSebastianas part of the EIT Manufacturing initiative, in whichTECNALIAparticipates forming part of its IMT (Interim ManagementTeam). TheEIT Manufacturing initiative came about with the supportof theEuropean Commission to help make the sector morecompetitive,sustainable and productive. More than 50companies/partners andtechnology centres will work together withthe aim of making Europea worldwide reference in manufacturinginnovation: it will enable aswifter and more efficient adoption ofmodern technologies. Thethemes will focus on two main aspects:Fostering the modernisationof industry; to become more agile andflexible, environmental andsocially sustainable, contributing togenerating quality jobs.Creating "innovation ecosystems" in whichcompanies, centres,universities and investors interact. Thisinitiative has its owninnovation network in the Basque Country tofoster and financeprojects related to manufacturing 4.0 in thesouth-west of Europe.Aernnova, Mondragon Corporation, IK4, ITP andTECNALIA will beresponsible for its implementation. The Basquepresence ratifiesits commitment and effort in favour of industry.TECNALIA will playa leading role as our colleagues, Rikardo Buenoand Toni Pijoan,have been selected to be on the IMT ofEIT-Manufacturing. RikardoBueno will lead the western node, locatedin the Basque Country,along with Portugal and France. This locationhas been chosen dueto its initial contribution and the strength ofour industry andour technological sector, as well as the type ofsocially developedsociety. In the early stage, Toni Pijoan, fromTECNALIA Ventures,will lead the developments with the creation ofnew businesses on aEuropean scale.
